As part of the commitment of the Tourism Ministry of Guanajuato (Mexico) to Sustainability, in 2014 launched its Model of Tourism Sustainability, a tool that allows us to include sustainable practices in destinations and organizations in the tourism sector, based In the criteria of sustainable tourism of the Institute of Responsible Tourism to improve the effects of tourism and raise the standard of living of citizens of each tourist destination.

The Responsible Tourism Institute and its "Biosphere Responsible Tourism" label were chosen as the most suitable for the sustainable tourism certification of Guanajuatan companies, after benchmarking the most important labels in the world in Sustainability. The program started in November 2016.
