Aldeas Históricas de Portugal were voted the best Portuguese destination in the awards "Gente Viajera al Turismo Extremeño", the Spanish radio Onda Cero Extremadura.

The aim of these awards is to recognise the value of the tourism sector and the professionalisation of a sector that has increasing weight in the economy. The award winners are chosen by a committee made up of experts in the field.

This is the sixth edition of the awards "Gente Viajera al Turismo Extremeño" that, this time, delivered to the Historical Villages of Portugal the award "Portuguese Tourism". The award ceremony took place at the Cultural Complex San Francisco in Caceres.

Aldeas Históricas de Portugal accumulate thus another distinction, after his new promotional film has received the award for Best Tourism Film in the World in the largest competition of tourism films worldwide, the "World's Best Tourism Film Awards - CIFFT Circuit". Before that, the film "De Corpo e Alma" won Gold at the International Tourism Film Festival in Africa and Silver at the International Tourism Film Festival in Cappadocia, Turkey (both in the category of Tourism Products).

Recall, also, that Aldeas Históricas de Portugal were the first destination network - on a global scale - and the first national destination to receive the certification BIOSPHERE DESTINATION.
