B-Travel and Biosphere Join Forces for the 2025 Edition to promote sustainable practices in the tourism sector. With innovative initiatives like the Sustainability Day, the Digital Guide to Sustainability for SMEs, and the Responsible Traveler Manifesto, Spain's largest travel-focused trade fair strengthens its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The prestigious B-Travel tourism fair, organized by Fira de Barcelona, has taken a pivotal step toward sustainability by signing a collaboration agreement with the Responsible Tourism Institute (RTI), the entity that awards the Biosphere certification. This agreement establishes Biosphere as B-Travel’s official sustainability partner, reinforcing the event's position as a leader in promoting environmentally, socially, and economically responsible tourism.
Additionally, B-Travel has begun the process to obtain the Biosphere Certified seal, an international accreditation that ensures the correct implementation of sustainable practices. Backed by the Responsible Tourism Institute (RTI), this certification aligns the fair with the United Nations´Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ensuring positive environmental and socio-economic impacts.
A program to promote sustainability in tourism.
In the 2025 edition of B-Travel, to be held from March 28–30 at the Montjuïc venue in Barcelona under the theme "B-Smart Travel", a Sustainability Day will take place. Experts and leaders in the sector will share ideas on transforming tourism into a more responsible activity. A Digital Guide to Sustainability for SMEs will also be developed, aimed at helping small and medium-sized enterprises adopt sustainable practices. Additionally, the Responsible Traveler Manifesto will be drafted, a document designed to encourage conscious behaviors among tourists.
Furthermore, B-Travel will collaborate with the 40th edition of the CETT Alimara Barcelona Awards, which recognize innovative initiatives in sustainability, digitalization, tourism experiences, and applied research in the tourism, hospitality, and gastronomy sectors. The awards ceremony, marking the start of the fair, will be held on the evening of March 27.
