Tourism is the sector most affected by the restrictions of the pandemic. Responsible for almost 11% of global GDP, it is also one of the most dynamic sectors with the capacity to contribute to reactivating the economy worldwide due to its ability to involve practically all productive sectors, in order to generate more agile, inclusive and sustainable development processes.

This event creates a space for debate and for finding solutions to the global challenges posed by the new normality, in a Post Covid-19 era in which it will be necessary to develop collaborative systems to turn the crisis derived from the pandemic into an opportunity for progress that will reactivate the tourism industry at a global level, in economic, social and environmental terms.

Tourism ministers and secretaries of state from more than a dozen countries, leading figures from political, public and private institutions and international organisations will meet over the two days to discuss the future of tourism, the population, the planet and economic growth worldwide.

A meeting chaired by the Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Zurab Pololikashvili, in which more than 150 international speakers will take part, attending in person at the Casa Llotja de Mar in Barcelona and online. Among these speakers, the participation of Mr. Ángel Díaz, Member of the Board of Directors of the Responsible Tourism Institute (RTI) is confirmed.

The event will end with the "Barcelona Call to Action for the Future of Tourism", a document that will mark an international milestone in the progress towards an innovative tourism model, more responsible and aligned with sustainability.
