Biosphere Responsible Tourism and Alatur, the Latin American Civil Association of Rural Tourism, have signed a framework collaboration agreement to work together to promote sustainable tourism in Argentina.
Both organizations contribute with their work experiences to accompany tourism companies and destinations in Argentina on their way to sustainable management. This joint task will be shaped through the awareness and dissemination of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the tourism industry, by training programs and the development of tourism experiences generating social and environmental value, among others.
Alatur aims to promote the local and regional development of rural tourism in Argentina and Latin American countries.The Association is made up of a group of professionals graduated on Rural Tourism at the FAUBA, Buenos Aires University, Agronomy Faculty, tourist entrepreneurs and professional people coming from public and private sectors as well.
Alatur is a member of the Executive Board of the UN Global Compact Argentine Network 2019-2020 which enable them to collaborate much more closely in pursuit of the sustainable development goals.
Our main objective is to join efforts to help develop Rural Tourism in Argentina and Latin American countries on the basis of sustainable principles, cultural diversity and the enhacement of scientific knowledge by means of actions designed to highlight local features and traditions and to promote interaction with rural work in order to take part and share daily activities carried out by local entreprices and communities as a whole. Joining Biosphere Responsible Tourism aims to Alatur’s, the goal is to develop a new way of traveling and getting to know our Planet based on sustainability, based on a very solid frame of work.
