Hotels City becomes the first global hotel chain that focuses entirely sustainable tourism through the Biosphere certification Responsible Tourism
Hotel City, Mexican hotel chain, becomes an example of sustainable tourism, to be the first worldwide to bet on the leading international certification for Sustainable Tourism, Responsible Tourism Biosphere, developed by the Responsible Tourism Institute (RTI), to which the Global Sustainable Tourism Council has granted recognition and is the world's first and only in giving approval.
The certification project, which begins this month, including the corporate structure as Biosphere Company, and all its individual hotels as Biosphere Hotels, hoping to have them all certified in 2015.
"We chose to take environmentally friendly measures when the brand was established 10 years ago, the hotels are designed to be sustainable and contribute to the conservation of the environment, for Hotels City this certification supports our efforts to make a difference in the hotel industry, "said Javier Arce, director of development for City Hotels, so that this growth will be supported by certification that ensures sustainable development.
Hotel City has 74 units in operation in Mexico and one in Costa Rica, under the brands City Express, directed the executive requiring affordable accommodation; City Junior, targeting travelers seeking cheap accommodations, and City Suites, a concept Study with hotel service, aimed at business travelers with longer stay.
