In the past few weeks, there have been various deliveries of certificates for entities in the region of Alentejo, Biosphere Destination, Ribatejo and the Central Region of Portugal.
Particularly, 39 hotels were given the Biosphere Hotel Certificate. These certificates were delivered by the President of the Regional Tourism Entity, António Ceia da Silva, and the Secretary of State for Tourism of the Government of Portugal, Ana Mendes Godinho. The Ceremony took place at the Hotel Convento do Espinheiro, in Évora.
42 companies of the Central Region of Portugal were also awarded with the Biosphere Certicate. These companies are of various sectors of tourist activity, from lodging, tourist animation, transport and restaurants. The Certificates were delivered by the President of the Regional Tourism Entity of the Center of Portugal, Pedro Machado. The ceremony took place in Linhares da Beira, one of the 12 Historical Villages of Portugal, also certified as a Biosphere Destination.
