The Responsible Tourism Institute collaborates with the Spanish Youth Hostel Network to initiate its members on the road to sustainability
The aim of the collaboration between the ITR and REAJ is to promote a more sustainable tourism model in the management of the hostels associated to the NETWORK. Through this collaboration, the Responsible Tourism Institute grants a discount on the annual subscription of all REAJ member hostels to the Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle platform. Thanks to this online tool, the hostels will be able to use different services that will allow them to create their own Sustainability Plans, aligning their management with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals for the achievement of the 169 United Nations Goals.
Through the Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle Methodology, REAJ hostels that want to join this initiative will be able to know their real level of sustainability, involving their employees and connecting with their customers. Instead of completing a static questionnaire, they will be able to manage their sustainable development in an easy and intuitive way through the selection of a set of more than 400 sustainable activities and actions, linked to the 169 goals of the 2030 Agenda; they will even be able to create their own activities, fully adapted to their reality, means and resources.
