The second edition of the Edelweiss Awards has once again recognized the involvement of different projects in the field of sustainable tourism. The event took place in Zaragoza and was attended by regional, national and international representatives. Among the prizes received by the winners was an annual subscription to the Biosphere platform.
The Aragon Sustainable Tourism Cluster has announced the winners of the 2nd Edelweiss Awards at a ceremony held at the Roman Theatre Museum in Zaragoza. An award highlighting the best regional, national and international projects in the field of sustainable tourism. Thus, recognizing their alignment with the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.
In addition to the commemorative trophy, the award winners have received discounted access to the Biosphere platform, through which they will be able to draw up their own sustainability plan. Once they have completed the minimum number of required actions, they will receive the Biosphere Certified seal, internationally recognized by the main search engines and online travel agencies.
There was also time for a presentation of the Sustainable Tourism Medals. An individual recognition awarded to different personalities in the field of responsible tourism. The event was led by Pedro Villanueva and Nita Macía, president and director of the cluster; presented by journalist Lourdes Funes; and the jury was made up by different experts in tourism and sustainability.
Likewise, the attendees were able to enjoy the performance of the Cantatutti Inclusive Choir and a cocktail in which they could taste different Aragonese products and the wine Corona de Aragón, Juan de Altamira from Bodegas Grandes Vinos.
